The dog that love to sniff crotches ... aye!?
Jumping Beans is a 3 year old terrier mix with a wonderful personality. He is very affectionate and friendly towards everyone, even strangers in the park. The problem is he is a crotch sniffer. He does that with everyone, man, woman, the elderly and even children. I have tried obedience classes and I even have a trainer come to my home three times a week to teach Jumping Beans that it is not ok to go sniffing crotches.
I am up to my wits end. So right now, whenever I walk Jumping Beans, I have to caution everyone who pass by that he is on trainning and please do not come near. Once, he actually tried to bite on this poor fella's in between his shorts. I am embarrassed beyond imagination.
Any tips out there to help me out here?
erm, no. in case you didn't know this about dogs, sniffing crotch/butt area is how they get to know a person, or another animal. they can smell what you have been eating, where you have been, who/what has been around you, etc etc.
how is that embarassing for you? its the most natural thing for dogs to do. get over it.
