Remote training collar for housebreaking?
Could using a remote training collar work for making the dog realize it is not okay to pee/poo inside even when it thinks you aren't watching it?
Is it possible he will end up fearing going to the bathroom altogether?
E-collar's aren't good for housebreaking. They're good for other training purposes...WHEN USED PROPERLY! However, the best way to housebreak a dog is to crate train. If you're not home or at night when you're sleeping he should be in his crate. Take him out immediately after he comes out of the crate, immediately after eating and right before he goes into his crate. If you find an accident in the house just simply clean it up. Use resolve on the carpet and on the floor use any all purpose cleaner. If you catch him in the act of going, say NO! very firmly to startle him and immediately take him outside. Even if he's all done going to the bathroom. Anytime he goes on the grass praise him! Whether it be giving him his favorite toy, saying good boy! or giving him a treat. If you see him start sniffing and circling GET HIM OUTSIDE! Stay consistent in your training and do not try something "new" thinking it will work. It won't and you'll just be starting all over! Get him into a routine too. Dog's like simplicity and routines. He'll learn faster that way.
