What's the best way to remove latex paint from a picture frame?
I made the very stupid mistake of painting a picture frame, and it looks horrible. I don't want to toss the frame all together because it was custom made for one of my paintings and very pricey. Is there a way I can remove the paint without damaging the frame? It's sort of a brass-like material.
I'm assuming that because you said it is a "brass-like material" that the frame is some sort of metal. Find a tub or some sort of vessel that can hold the frame, or that you can use to dip the frame into. You will need white vinegar. Put the white vinegar, UNDILUTED, into a pot and put it on the stove to boil. Once it has boiled, remove from heat and pour it over the frame. Let it sit and the latex paint should start to bubble and come off. Whatever is left, once most has bubbled off, can be wiped off with a sponge.
