after taking ecstasy and having panic attacks and other symptoms?
i was really stupid to try ecstasy so dont give me a big lecture on that but im having side effects still like i have panic attacks randomly at night which ive never had untill now and ive been to the doctor and they said i just needed to relax when that happens but at school i can never concentrate or its hard to remember things. the weirdest part is when i was rolling on E if you stick your finger in front of your face ur eyes shutter back and forth really fast and they dont do that normaly but it been 2 months since i took it and my eyes still do that. it kind of feels like im still high at some points in time but then i snap back into reality. im not sure what to do. is this normal?
Ecstasy overactivates, and then DESTROYS serotonin neurons. Serotonin is the neurotransmitter (chemical in your brain) that controls happiness and relaxation. What you're going through is normal. The system in your brain that makes you happy is really messed up right now. The good news is that these neurons CAN grow back. In most people, it just takes some time for your brain to heal.
What you should do is stay away from any and all recreational drugs, even pot and alcohol, for at least six months, because altering your brain functioning at all could cause more damage.
Also, it may sound weird, but if you're having panic attacks at night, try taking benedryl before you go to sleep. The chemical structure of benedryl is surprisingly similar to the structure of anti-anxiety medications (benzodiazepines).
The most concerning thing though, is that the E could have been laced with something else. If you have any seizure-like symptoms (muscle spasms, etc), definitely see your doctor again. And don't let your doctor tell you that its all in your head- even one dose of ecstasy does cause neurological damage.
