Has your dog ever done anything that scared you?
Tori is a really stubborn little madam when she spies a fox, rabbit, squirrel or duck. On one occasion she spotted a fox before I did and was gone like a shot, absolutely deaf to recall and straight across a road in front of a car.
Thankfully the car stopped in time, just, scared the life out of me and I haven't taken her back to that particular park since as it is open to the road all the way round. Also the reason why I'm seriously considering an electric collar, if only I could find a professional to help me to use the thing!
Sounds just like my dog! Ears turn off when a bird, rat, rabbit, or anything of the sort is near!
Thankfully, never in a non-enclosed area, but I understand the potential danger with the situation.
Thus, the reason I purchased the e-collar =)
Add: Sorry, but if you think that e-collars are cruel and uneccessary, then you obviously do not understand how they work. I think it is much more cruel to have my dog get hit by a car, as opposed to making sure she has a solid recall, using whatever tools are necessary.
