Why does it matter that the SunChips bag makes a lot of noise?
I mean, do you sit and eat right out of a giant bag anyway? Just pour it in a bowl like a normal person. I never even notice the bag made noise until just now when I saw on the CBS Early Show that SunChips is going back to the non-compostable bag because people were complaining about the bag making a lot of crinkly noise. They said the sales of SunChips were down 10% - how weird that a noisy bag could bother people so much!
How is this the dumbest question ever? I was watching the news story about how SunChips is getting rid of their compostable (eco friendly) bag because consumers complained that it made a lot of noise. I don't get why it was such a problem.
Last week, my daughter and I visited my parents. They had a bag of SunChips and my mother commented that the price of them went up. (We don't normally buy them.) The sound of the bag was rather loud and my mother commented on that as well and she didn't like it and joiked that it made it hard to sneak a snack.
What doesn't impress me about them is that I think they use corn to make their bags. Why waste food (even if it is genetically modified) for packaging? My father tried composting it with the rest of his compost and my mother said that my father turned the pile and it didn't fully compost.
What I thought was interesting, was that I saw it as part of the major news stories on one of the network morning news show things. Really? With all the major things that are going on, that warranted a slot, even the last one? Not impressed.
