I have a two year old visla and gsp mix and need an e-collar, can anyone tell me a good model and where?
Must be waterproof and between half a mile to a mile. Various types of stimulation without the need to accomodate extra dogs. Any help would be nice along with advice on how to use it. I understand I don't want him to become collar wise and I only use it after saying a command he really knows but if there is anything I need to know that would be great. Also I have been training him with tenis balls to the point where he listens to every command say to the T using actual birds sparingly, I'm kind of embarrassed but how should I integrate him from a one acre yard to a hunting environment successfully. Any help would be great. Thank you very much
I'm flipping through a Cabelas catalog. The only one listed with that kind of range is the Garmin Astro DC 30 GPS Dog Tracking System. Says the range is up to five miles which would mean on flat treeless ground. Looking at $600 for it.

As far as the itergration, I hope you've had him out in the field at least a little at this point. If not he will go into sensory overload and vanish.
My best friend breeds visulas but doesn't train his personal ones too much. They disappear the first chance they get and find something dead to roll in.
They are a great dog, but the field training needs to be started by the time they are 6 months for best results.
